A group of local Business People gathered at the Grim’s Dyke Hotel last week for a special meeting of the Harrow Business Club. The key note speaker was the Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP, the new Culture Secretary, undertaking one of his first engagements since taking office.
Following his speech, there was an opportunity for the local business community to put their questions to Mr Javid, who has previously occupied the roles of Economic Secretary and Financial Secretary to the Treasury.
A lively debate ensued, which covered a broad range of topics, including the needs of small and medium sized enterprises in Harrow and new Government policies to create more apprenticeship places.
Harrow Business Club was established by Hannah David, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Harrow West, in order to help local businesses to promote themselves, network and grow.
Following the meeting Mrs David said: “I am delighted to have welcomed the Minister to Harrow on one of his first engagements since becoming Culture Secretary. Tonight’s meeting was another great success for Harrow Business Club, and Mr Javid handled some tough questions with typical intelligence and ease. The Business club continues to go from strength to strength, and our membership has continued to grow.”
