Hannah David, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Harrow West, today joined forces with Bob Blackman, MP for Harrow East, to facilitate an important meeting between the Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt, and the NHS Harrow Clinical Commissioning Group, to discuss the future needs of our local health services.
Over the course of an hour, the group discussed a wide range of issues relating to GP and Hospital Care. Particular emphasis was placed on identifying those areas that face the greatest need of reform, as the Minister sought to gain an insight into how Government policies are working for the people of Harrow.
Following the meeting, Hannah David said, “Today’s meeting between local GP’s and the Health Secretary was very productive indeed. This Government has fulfilled its commitment to provide the NHS with the funding it needs to meet growing demand, and today’s meeting showed a Health Secretary determined to work with doctors and patients to shape health care policies that are effective for all.”
£1.98bn of additional investment in the NHS for 2015/16 was announced in the Autumn Statement in December, and the funds have now been allocated to individual CCGs by NHS England, with NHS Harrow CCG allocated an additional £18m.
