Hannah was delighted to attend the 5th anniversary celebrations of the Harrow United Deaf Club on Saturday the 7th of June.
Harrow United Deaf Club was set up to promote “equality, diversity and harmony among the local deaf and hearing communities” and has made great progress in working within the broader community to increase understanding, and to campaign for better services and facilities for Harrow’s deaf community.
Saturday’s celebrations, hosted by HUDC President, Asif Iqbal, included a range of special guests, and included performances by the Rochford Irish Dance Group, singer Omoyele Thomas, and Nadia Choudhury, who performed a traditional Bengali dance about the beauty of the world.
The highlight of the afternoon came when Just Dance TV Star, Karan Pangali arrived to give a Bollywood Dance class for all those in attendance. Following this, Karan officially launched the HUDC’s brand new website.
Following the event, Hannah said: “I am so honoured to have been invited to today’s celebration. As the sole Deaf Club in Harrow the Harrow United Deaf Club provides a much needed service in our community, and I look forward to supporting their work in the future”
“I would encourage anyone who is interested in the HUDC, or would like to get involved to visit their fantastic new website”
