The first meeting of Rubbish Friends, a social action initiative started by Hannah David, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Harrow West, took place on Friday.
Fourteen volunteers accompanied Mrs David on a mission to clean up some of the litter black spots in Rayners Lane.
Rubbish Friends was established by Mrs David to help keep our streets, roads and parks clean, and to encourage greater pride in our Borough.
Mrs David said, “One of the things that people in Harrow are most concerned about is that our Borough is not as clean and tidy as it used to be. The Rubbish Friends is one practical approach to tackling this problem. Of course we are only a small group, but I hope over time more people will join us, or set up their own Rubbish Friends groups”
On Friday, the Rubbish Friends collected 23 bags of litter and transformed one of Rayners Lane’s dirtiest areas.
